We offer Pre-School Programs for dancers 18 months to 6 years, Academy Programs for ages 6+, Adult Programs, Private Dance Lessons, and Limitless Abilities dance classes(for children with disabilities).
PRE-SCHOOL DANCE PROGRAMS
For dancers 18 months – 6 years
Quarterly 8-week sessions and yearly sessions available.
Sure to be the highlight of your dancer’s week, each program is an interactive experience for young dancers, as we explore creative movement, introduction to ballet, jazz, tap, and numbers, letters, colours, and shapes. We’ll introduce your dancer to the fundamentals to help build strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, confidence, and body awareness.
Dancers love spending this time interacting with their teachers while moving to fun, kid-friendly music that encourages movement.

Age: 18 months - 3 years
Four 8-week sessions are offered per year
Encourage creative movement exploration with an introduction to ballet. Instructors use a variety of props, songs, and games to engage students and make dance fun.

Recommended Age: 3-4 (must be born on or before Dec 31, 2021)
Explore creative movement with an introduction to ballet, jazz, numbers, counting, letters, colours, and shapes, as well as the fundamentals.
By using props, exploration and guided activities, dancers will begin to develop their dance vocabulary and skills.

Age: 4-5 (must be born on or before Dec 31, 2020)
Dancers continue to build on the skills built in Pre-Dance 3, with the introduction of tap.
Dancers will explore tap, ballet, jazz, and creative movement weekly as they delve deeper into the concepts of dance. Pre-Dance 4 is a more structured class where dancers will learn and execute the foundational skills required for a successful dance experience.

Age: 5-6 (must be born on or before Dec 31, 2019)
Beginning each week with tap, then ballet, and closing out with jazz, students will continue to build on the skills developed in Pre-Dance 3 and 4, with a focus on physical growth, flexibility, coordination, and linking steps together.
Pre-Dance 5 helps prepare dancers for the style-specific classes that come next in their dance journey. In ballet, they will be introduced to the Royal Academy of Dance Syllabus. In tap and jazz, the dancers will connect the skill learned in Pre-Dance 4 to create longer combinations and more intricate dance skills.

Age: 3-6 (must be born on or before Dec 31, 2021)
This fun and engaging program follows the Acrobatic Arts AcroDance PreSchool Program. It focuses on introducing physical literacy, coordination, creative movement, and basic acro skills. Props, colouring pages, certificates for achievements, and a whole lot of fun will make this your dancer's favourite time of the week!

Age: 3-5 (must be born on or before Dec 31, 2021)
Focusing on the foundational hip hop steps, coordination, rhythm, and body control, all to fun and kid-friendly music that is sure to get your little ones wanting to move.
ADULT DANCE CLASSES
Age: 18+
8-week sessions
Great for experienced dancers who want to continue training or get back into the studio. Also great for those new to dance looking to add some movement into their weekly fitness routine.
We offer both introductory and intermediate/advanced adult classes in a variety of styles.

For the adult who’s been out of class for a while and is looking to get back into it and gain some confidence along the way.

For adult dancers who have 5+ years of advanced training and would like to continue taking classes.
For the adult currently in college/university missing a studio setting.
THE ACADEMY DANCE PROGRAM
For dancers 6+
Acro, tumbling, ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, and contemporary – PDA has it all!
Your dancer loves the physical, social, and emotional benefits that dance offers, and PDA programs meet the need for every style and level of dance.

At PDA, our acro programs are second to none!
Perfect for a dancer that likes to work towards goals this progressional syllabus sets out skills for dancers to achieve and celebrate through the program. Our acro instructors are all Acrobatic Arts certified and our programs follow the professional curriculum.
Acro classes consist of:
Acro-specific conditioning and stretching program, core, back and shoulder strengthening.
A focus on limbering skills and variations as well as building strength & stability for balances.
A tumbling portion which will teach fundamentals of tumbling and connections through level-appropriate drills.
The opportunity to explore Acro combinations and partnering throughout the season.

Tumbling classes at PDA are offered in 2 different levels: Foundations or Progressions.
Foundations Tumbling:
Acts as an introductory class by laying the groundwork for tumbling skills such as aerials and back handsprings. Through drills, strengthening, and repetition, dancers will work towards these skills by perfecting their cartwheel and round-off variations, and the breakdown of the skill and shapes required.
Dancers must also be enrolled in an Acro 2, 3, or 4 level class or have 2-3 years of gymnastics or acro experience.
All dancers must be able to cartwheel.
Progressions Tumbling:
An intermediate/advanced tumbling class that focuses on achieving aerials and back handsprings and building on these skills.
Dancers will progress to more advanced skills and drills such as front aerials, back tucks, and back layouts.
Dancers must be enrolled in an Acro 5 or Acro 6/7+ class.

Following The Royal Academy of Dance Syllabus, PDA ballet classes educate dancers on the elements of classical ballet while developing poise, strength, and agility.
Dancers will learn terminology, classical movement, and musicality as well as explore free movement and character dance. Intermediate Foundation classes and up will be assessed for pointe work through a thorough evaluation. Upon teacher approval dancers may be recommended for pointe work.
PDA offers R.A.D examinations from pre-primary to intermediate.

A high-energy class combining a variety of styles: contemporary jazz, street jazz, broadway jazz, funk jazz, and more. Dancers explore the use of isolations, musicality, dynamics, and style while also learning technical elements such as pirouettes, battements, and jumps.
Dancers will learn the foundational elements of jazz through the A.D.A.P.T Jazz Syllabus.

A fun, percussive art form that combines technique with dancers wearing tap shoes and music theory training. Tap is rooted in diversity and tradition.
Our tap dancers work with the Tap Dance Centre Syllabus which focuses on technique, musicality training, and tap history. Along with being able to make lots of noise, dancers will learn an art form that gets their bodies and minds working!

An energetic and influential style of dance. Classes combine the hottest styles and a variety of freestyle movements to create grooves and combinations that your dancer will love.
Dancers will explore freestyle, b-boy, stalls, tricks, isolations, popping, locking, breaking, downrocking, and a great mix of the latest grooves.

Includes exploration of creative movement, improvisation, expression, and technique.
Dancers draw from their training to explore varying movement qualities. Classes include combinations, partnering, and floor work, as well as exploring connection, dynamics, and transitions.

PRIVATE DANCE LESSONS
Our qualified staff will help your dancer achieve their dance goals, improve their confidence, and progress to the next level.
Private lessons can be beneficial for dancers that enjoy working directly with a teacher, want an additional challenge, or have a specific goal in mind.

LIMITLESS ABILITIES DANCE LESSONS
Every child should have the opportunity to join a dance studio community and participate in dance classes.
Perfect for a dancer who would benefit from a smaller class with more 1:1 attention geared towards their needs. Dancers with intellectual, physical, social, emotional, behavioural, or developmental challenges are encouraged to join this program.
The focus is on the ability and strength of the dancers and providing a fun and exciting activity for children. This program aims to reach participants who would not otherwise be able to participate in a typical dance class setting.
